This article presents an original methodology for working with English-language research articles, designed specifically for psychology students within an ESP (English for Specific Purposes) course. The proposed approach integrates language training with academic learning and aims to equip students with the skills to critically engage with scholarly texts. This involves selecting relevant sources, navigating the structure of an article, creating thematic notes, summarizing information, as well as applying appropriate citation techniques and formatting bibliographic references. The growing need to prepare future psychologists for participation in international academic communication and for writing their own research texts in English underscores the relevance of this study. The article outlines the core principles of the methodology and provides a detailed description of the learning objectives, types of learning activities, and expected outcomes at each stage.Special attention is given to fostering academic autonomy, enhancing analytical reading skills, and promoting academic integrity through adherence to citation standards. By offering step-by-step guidance throughout all stages of working with a research article, the methodology contributes to the development of academic writing skills and prepares students for producing their own scholarly publications, conference abstracts, and literature reviews in the field of psychology.
