COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS AND STRATEGIES AS THE FOUNDATION OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN PHARMACEUTICAL EDUCATION AND PHARMACY

Abstract

The article examines communicative strategies in the professional and educational environment of pharmacists. The authors emphasize the role of effective foreign language proficiency (English and German) in ensuring professional development, academic collaboration, and high-quality patient counseling. The study analyzes scientific approaches to strategic communication, including cognitive-pragmatic, psycholinguistic, and pedagogical aspects. The research methodology includes a comprehensive analysis of communicative skills through surveys of pharmacy students, educators, and practicing pharmacists. Key communicative strategies such as active listening, clarification, recommendation formulation, and argumentation-based communication have been identified. The study explores challenges in professional communication and determines effective methods for overcoming them.The research results highlight the significance of communicative strategies in enhancing professional language competence and the quality of pharmaceutical services. It has been determined that strategic speech contributes to effective information exchange, persuasive argumentation, and the establishment of trust between pharmacists and patients. Recommendations are proposed for improving the teaching process of foreign languages for specific purposes.The qualitative and quantitative results obtained in the study can be applied in the methodology of teaching a foreign language in pharmaceutical higher education institutions, fostering the development of strategic competence among future professionals. The article also emphasizes the importance of intercultural communication and the specifics of professional discourse in the pharmaceutical field. Special attention is given to the role of interactive teaching methods and simulation-based communication models in shaping linguistic competence. The findings of this research can be useful for improving pharmacy professional training programs in the context of globalization and international cooperation.
