The article considers the problem of forming soft skills of younger schoolchildren as a key professional competence of future primary school teachers in the context of the transformation of the higher education system of Ukraine and the implementation of the Concept “New Ukrainian School”. The importance of integrated courses in the development of the personality of primary school students is emphasized, in particular through familiarization with different cultures, traditions and social norms. It is noted that the educational branches of the state standard of primary education include various types of activities that contribute to the development of critical thinking, creativity and social interaction, which are key to the formation of a socially competent personality. The emphasis is placed on the importance of the role of the primary school teacher in the formation of soft skills of younger schoolchildren, since his task is to create optimal conditions for a safe educational environment, based on the ideas of partnership pedagogy and aimed at the comprehensive development of a citizen of Ukraine. The emphasis is on the fact that teachers play the role of facilitators, not just transmitters of knowledge, stimulating students to independent work and interaction. It has been proven that the effectiveness of involving future primary school teachers in various social projects of the faculty and university lies in the fact that they learn to work together, developing critical thinking and a creative approach to solving problems, as well as gaining experience in interaction and partnership, which are key aspects of social competence. These skills will be needed in the future to form the key competencies of their students.
