THE USAGE OF INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES AND INTERNET RESOURCES AS A MEANS OF FORMING STUDENTS’ RESEARCH COMPETENCE IN ENGLISH LESSONS

Abstract

The article examines the use of Internet resources and Internet technologies in the educational environment and English lessons. Peculiarities of the formation of research competence of students with the help of Internet resources and Internet technologies were studied, taking into account the content and functions of their introduction into the educational process. Positive factors of the Internet’s impact on education, opportunities, and conditions for using modern online resources are singled out. In modern conditions, when educational systems are being reformed, the type of schools is turning into gymnasiums and academic lyceums, it is necessary to pay attention to the relevance of research on the use of Internet technologies as a means of forming the research competence of students in English lessons. Changes in education require new approaches to learning, and the use of modern methods and techniques for the development of students’ key competencies, among which research competence occupies an important place. Equally important is the continuous development of teachers and the improvement of their qualifications in the use of modern Internet resources and technologies in lessons. With today’s requirements, in the conditions of war and pandemics such as COVID-19, new and improved Internet technologies appear in the labor market and, accordingly, in education. AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a new branch of computational linguistics and informatics that is changing and can be used to change the approach to learning. With the help of AI, the teacher can create new Internet resources by himself or together with students.The purpose of the study is to study the conditions for the formation of students’ research competence in English lessons using Internet technologies. The object of the study is the process of forming students’ research competence in English lessons, and the subject of the study is Internet technologies and Internet resources as a means of forming students’ research competence.
