THE ROLE OF SPIRITUALITY IN SHAPING POST-TRAUMATIC GROWTH IN COMBAT SURVIVORS

Abstract

The problem of diagnosing and correcting the negative consequences of the destructive impact of stress factors, the sources of which are traumatic events of war, is becoming more and more urgent against the background of the long-term full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine. An important direction in the rehabilitation of individuals with post-traumatic disorders who have survived hostilities is the restoration of spiritual and personal orientations and meanings. The purpose of the study is to analyze the practical potential of spirituality in the formation of the vector of post-traumatic growth of individuals who have been affected by direct hostilities. Expanding the possibilities of rehabilitation should occur by establishing active interaction with representatives of religious organizations, using the ability of religious beliefs to serve as a source of meaning, hope and emotional stability. It is substantiated that spiritual practices help to find meaning in the suffering experienced, which contributes to the effective processing of trauma, and prayer and other spiritual rituals have a positive effect on the state of the nervous system. The study highlights the current trend of digital transformation of religious experience – the phenomenon of media religiosity, where virtual platforms are actively used as a space for spiritual support, as a means of communication between believers and the denomination, including through social networks, online services, mobile applications and joint prayer.
