PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL IN THE PROCESS OF SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL ADAPTATION AFTER COMBAT OPERATIONS

Abstract

This article presents a theoretical synthesis of the issue of psychological support for military personnel as a key factor in their socio-psychological adaptation and the restoration of mental resilience after participation in combat operations. The relevance of the study is driven by the increasing psycho-emotional burden placed on service members and the growing prevalence of maladaptive responses during the post-combat period. The aim of the article is to provide a scientific justification of the role of psychological support in overcoming socio-psychological difficulties and stabilizing the mental state of military personnel. The study employs a set of theoretical methods, including analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, and content analysis of scholarly sources. Contemporary approaches to understanding psychological resilience, adaptive capacity, and mechanisms of recovery from combat-related stress are generalized.
It is argued that psychological support should be conceptualized as a continuous, multi-level system encompassing preventive, operational (supportive), and rehabilitative components. The key determinants of its effectiveness are identified as timeliness, systemic organization, individualization, and the integration of social environment resources.
The scientific novelty of the study lies in clarifying the structure of psychological support and substantiating its continuous nature as a prerequisite for effective adaptation. The practical significance of the findings consists in their potential application in the development and improvement of psychological support programs for military personnel.
