METHODS AND TECHNIQUES FOR IMPLEMENTING CLIL TECHNOLOGY IN ENGLISH LESSONS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL

This article explores the methods and techniques for implementing Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in English lessons in primary school. Special attention is given to the advantages of integrated learning, including the development of cognitive skills, critical thinking, communicative competence, and the ability of students to use English in real-life situations. The author examines the relevance of the CLIL methodology within the framework of modern educational reforms, particularly the “New Ukrainian School” concept.The article presents specific CLIL implementation strategies, such as cross-disciplinary projects, interactive activities, the use of authentic materials, and STEAM education as a promising approach to integrated learning. The results of a study conducted among primary school teachers confirm a high level of interest in CLIL implementation while also identifying key challenges, such as insufficient teacher training and the need for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.Based on an analysis of academic sources and practical research, the author concludes that the CLIL methodology is highly effective in developing foreign language competence among young learners.Recommendations are provided for optimizing the implementation of integrated learning, including professional teacher development, the creation of adapted learning materials, and the use of modern digital technologies to support the educational process. The findings suggest that CLIL-based instruction not only enhances linguistic proficiency but also fosters students’ holistic development, motivation, and engagement in the learning process.
