The problem of enhancing the motivation of 5–6 grade students towards physical activity within the New Ukrainian School context is examined in this article. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to find effective pedagogical tools that ensure the formation of students’ health-preserving competence and align with the principles of competence-based learning. The aim of the study was to empirically verify the effectiveness of quest technology in increasing motivation among 5th–6th-grade students to engage in physical activity during physical education lessons. The experiment was conducted according to a one-factor design with a single group. The sample consisted of 87 students in grades 5–6 (43 boys, 44 girls), aged 10–12 years. To assess motivation, an author’s questionnaire was developed, containing five statements on a 5-point Likert scale. Statistical processing of the results was performed using the non-parametric Wilcoxon T-test for dependent samples using the JASP software package. The results showed a statistically significant increase in overall motivation after the introduction of quests (M = 16.4 before; M = 20.7 after; p < 0.001; r = 0.52). The effect size was r = 0.52. The proportion of students with a high level of motivation increased by 17.2%, while the proportion with a low level decreased by 16.1%. The most significant changes were observed in statements regarding readiness to perform complex physical exercises (an increase of 1.1 points, r = 0.55) and positive emotional state after classes (an increase of 1.1 points, r = 0.53). It has been established that quest technologies are effective in increasing motivation among 5th–6th-grade students to engage in physical activity. It has been determined that quest technology ensures the integration of motor, cognitive, and communicative tasks.
