The study analyses definitions of emotional intelligence and establishes that, in contemporary academic discourse, it is regarded as an integrative personality trait that combines the ability to recognize, understand and regulate one’s own emotions and those of others, thereby facilitating effective professional communication. It is noted that, against the backdrop of the digital transformation of education and the modernization of the vocational training system, the issue of using digital educational tools for the targeted development of emotional intelligence during foreign language learning is becoming particularly relevant. In the course of our research, we endeavored to make the fullest possible use of the potential of comprehensive, competence-based and systematic scientific approaches. Combining these approaches enabled us to conduct a comprehensive analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, as well as contemporary international and domestic research devoted to the development of emotional intelligence, the digitalization of education and foreign language training for higher education students. Particular attention has been paid to the characteristics of modern digital tools, in particular multimedia presentations, the LearningApps and Wizer.me platforms, collaborative interaction services and other interactive resources that facilitate personalized learning, the development of communicative activity, intercultural interaction. Practical recommendations are proposed for the targeted integration of digital tools into the process of foreign language teaching, aimed at creating an emotionally safe digital learning environment and the comprehensive development of the social and emotional competences of higher education students. The results of the study allow us to conclude that the use of digital educational technologies in foreign language teaching is an effective pedagogical tool for developing emotional intelligence, as it fosters the development of skills in emotional awareness, selfreflection, intercultural interaction.
