INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC MOBILITY AS A MEANS OF ENHANCING THE COGNITIVE AND PROFESSIONAL MOTIVATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of international academic mobility as a means of enhancing the cognitive and professional motivation of higher education students. The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of mobility on the learning activity and professional orientation of students and teachers. The author considers the regulatory and legal framework for its implementation in Ukraine, outlines the multidimensional nature of this phenomenon, which combines educational, socio-cultural and professional aspects. The methodology is based on the analysis, synthesis, systematization, comparative method and generalization of empirical materials and feedback from participants of Erasmus+ programs and other international initiatives. It has been established that participation in international academic mobility programs stimulates cognitive motivation through access to new educational resources and methods, and also forms professional motivation through familiarization with international standards of activity and practical experience in foreign institutions.Particular attention is paid to the experience of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, which actively implements academic mobility, in particular under the Erasmus+ program. Examples of successful participation of students, postgraduates and teachers are presented, which demonstrate the positive impact of academic mobility on the development of intercultural competencies, language skills, professional orientations and competitiveness of graduates. It is concluded that international academic mobility is an effective factor in the internationalization of higher education and the formation of internal motivation for continuous learning and professional growth. Prospects for further research are to develop effective mechanisms for motivating participation in international programs, study the impact of mobility on the formation of key competencies of graduates, and overcome institutional barriers that limit access to academic exchanges.
